At this point they might as well reflavor Wild Shape into Nature Communion or something like that. Which I'm really happy with, since there was only one subclass thag really worked with Wild Shape.

Druids speaking while Wild shaped is specifically counter to the ability. Wild shape transforms you, including your voice box. Wild shape is not lythancropy, it's not human-like Gaining telepathy is valid, but not natural speaking From what I'm reading, all druids could use wild shape, is the change just making it a bonus action? Since they split druid martial and spellcasting, are they doing the same to clerics?

Though I do agree that Dnd is a collaborative story telling game and I do occassionally fudge things to help my players feel epic I will under no circumstance ask their consent to kill their characters. They may love the characters, they may mourn them, but adventuring is a dangerous profession and if there is no sense of danger or loss then there is no point to the combat mechanics at all, might aswell be writing a book. In the end it is a GAME, sometimes you lose, it isn't a bad thing. If they die, they die. 🤷

hi This is me, and I hate it, but when I do get to be a player, I take frantic notes in character as my PC so that way I am able to do stuff without interrupting what is going on and it isn't frowned upon, works wonders.

A variant human with Skill Expert could have (16 INT 16 WIS) a potential +10 nature bonus at 1st level... Wow. BA Wild Shape is incredible to buff every Druid. Find Familiar as a free spell for Druids is massive. Talking animals?! Holy crap! Wild Resurgence is nuts. It is like Sorcery Points for Druids. +300ft on cantrips?! Holy crap! Moon Druids sound terrifying!

I made a Drow rogue who used to be a master thief, but he once stole the crown jewels in a city and was caught doing it, though he managed to escape. He skipped town and retired from being a rogue. One day, years later, he discovers news of vast riches and gets the urge to be a thief again. This way, he can have a detailed backstory, but still be a weak level 1 character.

First story reminds me of that bit from Vox Machina where Tiberius said “I hate the Briarwoods more than any of us. They toyed with my mind.” As Percy is explaining how the Briarwoods murdered, held hostage and tortured his entire family (including himself). It’s like dude, your time will come. Let the other players have some fun. This is clearly Percy’s backstory, why are you trying to hijack it?

Paladin has really big upgrades! And i like that there are more options and that these options are very thematic!

So every druid now makes both being a firbolg and being a beastmaster ranger obsolete

Loving these. I’m just biting my nails waiting for the ranger. Last I saw from the UAs Gloomstalker was going to be all about the fear mechanic and I wasn’t sure whether I was pumped or grieving the loss. Friday can’t come fast enough.

I’ve been consuming your videos for a while now cuz I’m going to DM a one shot campaign with an isekai storyline and i have not played a proper game of dnd and i have no clue what I am doing. Any tips for a poor soul? 😭

I know the exact reason they included a badger in the druid art, and his name is Mudd and his pet Gumbo.

Just last session our dm had us meeting the head of an orphanage. We had a kid with us that we found but refused to go to the orphanage. The whole town talked up the place so we decided to check it out. We were honestly a little wary already so we were being cautious in what we said. The head was named Agatha and I just started singing Agatha all along. The table laughs, the dm laughs, the head mistress, who turned into a hag, laughs. . .

I think this list shows us all the importance of not using in-game mechanics as "consequences" or "punishment" for out of game issues. It only takes the fun out of it for everyone involved.

My DND group and i have the goal to make the DM facepalm or for us to create a lot of chaos, but the DM knows and is ok with it because he can handle it very well and improvises a lot

Rip wild shape, rip divine smite. During the playtests I was apart of or Dm’ed for the Druid was the classes that went down the most and died the most if they fought with wild shape by a huge margin! The temp HP comes no where close to the amount of HP the full animal form granted at mid to higher levels .

Maybe it will change once we can start playing them, but it seem to be the same old theme. Martials get a hug and a kiss on the cheek, while the casters esp the warlock get to take the princess to pound town.

I am notorious at my campaign because I am constantly solving every single puzzle the DM throws at me. The players even wanted me to play Sherlock Holmes next game. It’s gotten to the point where the DM was actually getting discouraged that her puzzles, “weren’t smart enough,” so I did what any good player would do…. I kept everything to myself. This past game, I didn’t participate in any puzzles because my character was too stupid. The other players were frustrated that they actually had to use their own heads instead of just letting me solve all the problems for them. And I’m proud to say that my DM hasn’t been smiling and laughing this much for a while. Be a good table mate to your DMs people. They’re players too.

If you want an easy Sharknado, just use Spirit guardians and make the spirits look like sharks as they circle you and you walk through the enemy as a spiritual tornado of sharks

Thi is kind of why i am glad not to do campign irl and do by online so alot of these things mean nothing to me and my group when we play our things. But yeah these players where all aholes but honestly i feel the dm is not a peach exactly either if this was straight on since the poster was the be actual villian but i cant say both where not great. As the main case this was not a game between friends, more like this was a group of someone probably looking for players meet them and didnt realize how bad they where and all. As i also see by alot of these things more of one guy taking full into dnd while the others more sound like guys who simply wanted a thing to do during down time together, like smoke pot, chat and do a game. Like a group playing video games but thinking it is more just a ah yeah i go in and take the shit, wooh and then get up and go have a smoke break like where pausing the game and think it will still be there when you come back.
